As a photographer I view each project as a  continuous evolution. The criteria I use to pick projects are themes that have a personal question to be answered or conflict to be resolved. Most important is the curious passion I have for the subject I choose.

This body of work is dedicated to the relationships found in ³American Myths².  Rodeos, country fairs, cattle drives are all a study of contradictions and inconsistencies. The examination of the human and animal relationship is a blending that is both unforeseen and unique. My preconceived ideas are often left behind as I am led through the unexpected
paths that are encountered.  These interactions allow me to peek into the cultures within these worlds.

Brought up in New York and always surrounded by pristine English riding, my interest was piqued by the motivation of the Western ideals of the rodeo, the economic/humane concerns of the animals and the entertainment element that surrounded these myths. Was I, in my own world, dealing with exactly
the same issues except for location?
